So, here's the story. Like every other middle American, I lined my stairwell with framed 8x10 photos of my kids ~ school pics, baseball, ballet, etc. You know what I'm talking about. The problem is that we have a window at the bottom of our stairs, which leaks way too much air, and moisture is constantly getting between the glass & the photos, ruining both the frames and the photos. Aaack! The good news is that Lesley over at Latest Trends hosted a fabulous workshop on layered collage. The perfect solution to my problem! I grabbed four 8x10 canvases, enjoyed every minute of the workshop, then simply adhered some of my favorite photos to the canvases with magnets (the ceramic kind that stack when turned the right way ~ one magnet on top of the photos, and the other on the back of the canvas; then I popped a vintage key over the top one). Now I'll be able to switch out the photos quickly and easily whenever the mood strikes, and I don't need to worry about the glass & the moisture anymore. Well, I suppose I could have just fixed the leaky window thing, but this was so much more fun. Thank you, Lesley!!
